What’s New
The “green renovation” of the buildings continues with the earthen plastering of one of the bedrooms in the main house. The plaster consists of mortar clay, sand, wheat paste, pigment and water. Earth-based plaster makes a beautiful interior surface and gives the feel of a natural building like strawbale, even on top of sheetrock. Here it is lovingly trowelled smooth by Emily, Susche and Leslie.
The first floor of the corner building, with massive brick columns and nice high ceilings was used as retail space and is now my office. It has high ceilings, great afternoon light through high windows, and plasterers have applied beautiful earthen plaster finishes on the walls to compliment the new brick columns.

Newly plastered office, FSC poplar, salvaged door, natural paints for upper section.
